Digital Fuel Gauge
Has anyone replaced the analog fuel gauge with a digital one? I have been surprised several times by the sudden drop in the gauge to empty from 1/4 tank. Granted I have always been on the return trip and close to the dock but still drives me crazy.

Re: Digital Fuel Gauge
More than likely not the gauge , but the sending unit.
A lot easier to replace the sending unit , than replace the whole unit. Did you look at the fuel gauge fix in the "How To" section , common problem with easy fix. I ain't real sure I'd trust a digital gauge anyway , but that's just me:shakehead: JMO |
Re: Digital Fuel Gauge
Fuel flow sender is the only sure way to know what you've burned.
As long as you know how much you have to start with, you'll know how much is left :wink_thumbup: I always fill my tank before heading out and each time my readings have been within a couple of litres (UK Boater ;)) Never trusted the old wobble metter :rolling_laugh: |
Re: Digital Fuel Gauge
I replaced the sending unit in a few different boats. I've used the floating arm type and the float on the pole type. If I were to put a new one in my boat I would be using one of these: http://www.wemausa.com
No particular reason other than the fact they appear to be the better built products I have personally uses and they are made in USA. Maybe I'm just biased! Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk |
