222 Engine cover/ sun deck latch
I have been trying to figure out how the engine cover/ sun deck is latched down. When towing it down the road or even at the lake the cover comes up. This is a problem it has pulled screws lose and I'm afraid it going to damage my boat badly or fly off.

My 99 202 has two straps that snap on the sides. Never use them though as it never comes open...

Sounds like you either need new gas lift struts , or you don't have them at all anymore busby :eek_animated:

I Do Have Gas Shocks On It And There New. It Lifts Easy So The Wind Makes It Raise Up. Not So Much On The Water As The Road.

That is good.
I'd install a snap setup on both sides then Never found any place where snaps were ? It would definitely not be good to loose the deck! :eek_animated: |
Re: 222 Engine cover/ sun deck latch
In the factory brochure , it almost looks like the bench seat head rests fit over the deck a bit holding it in place
Does that sound familiar? |
Re: 222 Engine cover/ sun deck latch
On mine the headrests are on the Sun pad it's not the rear bench

Yea thats The Thing The Head Rest Are Gone. Its Got Turn Snaps Down Below The Sun Deck But Nothing On The Deck.

Re: 222 Engine cover/ sun deck latch
You should be able to make up some straps from leather or webbing. And fasten them to the underside of the sunpad
