Another embroidery question - color

Can someone tell me what color the Mariah logos were originally in 1999 I have the white/tan interior if that matters. I'm sure they are faded out and I can't tell if they were silver, gold, tan or what! Thanks for any input.

Matt

I think I have silver or grey but when I have them redone I was contemplating gold. I don't know how that holds up though...

Matt, I just went with the color of my upolstery. Just had the interior redone on my talari and changed the captains chairs up a little on the design. I went with a two tone, tan and light beige, with the tan logo. my upolstery guy was able to find a font that was pretty close to the original mariah logo, except it didnt have the sunburst for the dot above the letter "i". it was ok with me though. i think it still looks good. I'll attach a pic

The closest I've found to the original Mariah Script is "Vladimir Script" in MS word :wink_thumbup:

Thanks, the rest is done in this style also. Not sure what the name of the font is on mine, but the color does match the darker tone of the interior

I went with stock colors (white and tan) in the Nautolex cologuard. It is expanded back, no t the original spun back type but it is really close to the original vinyl. It even has the prefixx coating which was important to me with 4 kids! What brand/style of vinyl did you use. It looks really good!

I couldn't tell you the name of it. My upholstery man said it was some high quality stuff, made specifically for marine and outdoor use and the stitching is uv tolerant. I was very impressed with his work. I wanted a more modern look, so I had him make solid panels and did away with the divided stitched paneling. It cost me some extra bucks since he had to replace the foam backing but it was worth it.

The script font Mariah used is commercially available for download. (I know, because I bought it!) However it is slightly tweeked a little bit by incorporating a custom bold theme, skewed to the right, and the sunburst on the I was custom created.

FWIW, most of Mariah's stitching was done with GoreTex, which is what they used on astronaut's space suits. (at least that's what they claim in the brochures) I'm not sure if this is the exact stuff they did the logo embroidery with, but it did seem quite a bit stronger than standard embroidery material, and the colors always seemed to match the exterior stitching used for the rest of the cushions...

Txtruckerpaul, your seats look great! Post a pic of them when they get back in the boat!

Can you even buy Gore tex thread? The embroidery lady said they will stitch it with polyester thread... Would you even worry about it and just get it done lol?
