Been away for too long: Couple of updates
 

I have never had any major problems out of my Mariah until just this last summer. I took it out in the spring on the annual test drive. The boat was constantly lagging and starving for fuel it seemed like. Then on the next test drive it ran hot for the first time ever.

I put the boat in the shop to let them hunt down the culprits of the intermitted stuttering and over heating. The shop started out and rebuilt the carb for the fuel issue which solved nothing. Well to make this very long update story short my boat literally stayed in the shop from April-October. The shop would replace part after part trying to solve both of my issues. The shop ended up: Rebuilding the carb 3 separate times, new fuel pump, all new hoses, new impeller, new thermostat, removed random string wound around driveshaft

Of course every time the shop would call and say they replaced this and that my heart would drop and I could hear my wallet screaming at me:rolling_laugh: They just kept telling me to not worry about it, but how can you not worry when the shop is replacing parts left and right and the boat has been in the shop for months.

Well the silver lining to my update story is that my boat is back to 100% running with no issues......... and it was all FREE!!!!!!:eek_animated: The owner of the shop told me that since he ruined my summer that he wasn't charging me a thing. Man its good to be back. Hope this wasn't to long.

And give us the name of your mechanic....it might be worth a trip. :)

They said it was just a combination of all of those small minor problems that were giving me the major issues. I've been going to the same mechanic for years for all of my matenience issues. Its Ahoy Marine off of lake Allatoona in Emerson Georgia. Great bunch of guys that have always helped me out.

That's a pleasant experience!

If I had to point a finger though Id like blame Ethanol in the fuel! Your story sounded familiar to one I've heard involving Ethanol.

Yeah that ethanol is some nasty stuff. I have always used fuel treatment for the ethanol but oh well. There is a gas station close that has non-ethanol gas it cost a bit more but I think I'm gonna have to start buying it.
