Fold away Tongue??
Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit for 3" x 4" Tongue - Bolt On - Up to 7,000 lbs Fulton Trailer Coupler FHDPB340301
Anyone have a folding tongue on their trailer like this? I have a non factory trailer that is really long. I need to get my length down to 23' to get it in my shop and close the door. I think this looks like a good product and has great reviews online (I only found one guy that complained) MY buddy is a certified welder/fabricator and will mod the trailer for FREE including all the steel!! All I need is the Hinge, they also make a weld on version. Any ideas? I have already thought about strength, we all pull our boats on that little pin in the receiver... Please, all thoughts / experience appreciated! Matt in GA |
Re: Fold away Tongue??
they put em on 28' mastercraft boats, it should work for yours as well. just as long as your connections are good

Re: Fold away Tongue??
I am also thinking of having my buddy build a removable tongue. Basically a square tube that slides inside the other and bolts together. that option would not be as convenient to remove but wouldn't cost me anything and definitely be secure, not that I'm worried about the pivoting hinge either... I figured they wouldn't sell them if they would get sued over them. Lol.
