I had a close call last year. I bought my Shabah in AZ and brought it to Colo in February. I drain everything prior to storing it. In March I started working on a few things and noticed a freeze plug was showing unpainted brass... Turns out there was sand in the block and it didn't allow all the water to drain.
I ended up just tapping the plug back in. 40hrs on the block and no problems since....

Yep, i do remember a few of these types of 'winters' years ago.... and i still dont like them. :)
