Remote Oil filter
I have a 1990 5.7 and it looks like it's not going to be any fun changing the oil filter. Has anyone added a remote filter to there boats? is there anything to look for or watch out for? I'm sure it can be done but any advice before I start is welcome.
Thanks Dennis D |
Re: Remote Oil filter
Here is a kit.
They have been factory installed for years , with no issues. Stay away from automotive type kits , they are not designed for the vibrations that the marine world puts on the system. I have heard people complaining about leaking hoses , but that doesn't seem to be the norm. Definitely would make your life easier. |
Re: Remote Oil filter
Thanks, I'm sure this will be a great time saver in the future. I'm not getting any younger and reaching the currnent locaton is diffacult at best.

Re: Remote Oil filter
mine is a XL2000 and another thing i just found is a remote oil drain. I'm thinking i'm going to have to get this to go with the remote filter. I also got a photo of my boat uploaded. And you can follow the link below to the remote oil drain.
