Threading the Needles
I realise this is a bit of a local thing to me but I thought i'd share with you guy's anyway ;)
Threading the Needles is almost a Rite of passage for any Solent boater :D Here's a short video from Monday (sorry about the wind noise it was taken with my phone) Now i'm not recommending you do it of course  But if you are going to do it my advice would be on your fist pass to follow the tour boat through or somebody else who's already done it. There are rocks under the water, and the trick is to be about 2/3's over to the lighthouse side and at a slight angle. Oh and don't be tempted by the smaller gap. there's a bear claw waiting in there for you http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/v...theneedles.jpg And why is it called the bear claw? Well not just because of the shape of the rocks. No we have our own Polar bear here, keeping an watch over the western end of the Solent http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/v...r%20web/pb.jpg |
