Default "Original" (1990-2001) Mariah Canvas

Good morning!

We get a lot of requests for canvas for the "original" Mariah boats. We're really unable to fill many of these requests, since we only patterned new canvas for Sea Fox when they bought Mariah and moved manufacturing to South Carolina for the 2002 model year. Some customers have had good luck matching the 1998-2001 Shabah, Talari and Z models with the newer SC, SX, FS, R and GS models and ordering canvas, but this is risky - and there are no returns. We usually turn away requests for full enclosures, cockpit and bow covers, since they're unlikely to fit properly.

We do, however, have Exact-Fit Boat-Covers for all years ("original" and "Sea Fox" era) Mariahs - which fit like a glove.

Long story short: Can anyone look at their "original" Mariah canvas and see what manufacturer is listed on the label?

If you want to post that info here for everyone to share, that's fine.

If you want to share it with us, we'll contact them and see if we can get canvas for the "original" Mariahs, in addition to the canvas we have for the newer Mariahs and our Exact-fit Covers for all Mariahs.

In the end, we hope we can help find the Original Mariah Canvas ...

I've look all over the original mooring cover for my '98 Shabah and all I can find is a tag with the material brand, it says "Coastguard 100% Solution dyed acrylic, Dickson Elberton Mills, Inc."

I hate to say it, but you'll likely not find what you're looking for. All of Mariah's canvas work was done in-house, from designing, cutting, stitching, all the way up to installation. They used a custom made vinyl.

    Check it out here:

I have a somewhat related question regarding the cockpit bimini cover for my 97 jubilee.

I am looking to find out if anyone knows if the bimini top that covers the cockpit area on a jubilee is the same for any other mocel in the same or similar years.
there is a company on ebay that "says they have Mariah bimini tops for a Mariah supra? I have not contacted them yet but am looking for any interchangeability between models for the top. hope someone may know something

Mariah never made a "Supra" model.
Saw that on Ebay also. It is a ski boat made by Supra Boats , and the model is a Mariah.
    No relation at all.
The Jubilee is a boat of it's own style and no other Mariah covers will fit it right. Although , all Jubilee (1997-2001) covers are interchangeable as long as it is the same model/length.

thanks, that actually answered my next question. I found a company who has listed a Mariah 1999-2001 cover and was wondering if the 19999 and the 1997 were interchangeable or if there was a change between 1997 and 99 so thank you very much

Since you are a contributor to the site, the best way i can suggest to check this is to have a look at the 1997 and 1999 brochures and confirm that the measurements are the same. Although i believe Larry answered that question when he confirmed that the Jubilees were interchangeable as long as you compare the same models from different years.

Just note that none of these vendors sell 'original' Mariah bimini's. All will be aftermarket and not necessarily fit as well as an original or even a custom made top.

well i found a local canvas shop here in phoenix, they are making both bimini tops (skins only) the frames are in good shape and i found out that the mariah bimini top frames are stainless steel not aluminum. to replace the frame they are about 1100 @. he is making new tops and since i have all of the original sidecurtains, (they look brand new) he is replacing all of the zippers and will make the top and side curtains fit properly. little more than i wanted to spend but total 1100 is not unreasonable. the color will match pretty well it is teal

1100.00 is a steal for all that!
Around here in Colorado that would amount to a 2500-3000 dollar job at least!
I paid over 600.00 for side curtains and new windows in the rear camper canvas , and a little extra stitching here and there on my Diablo. Nice work , mind ya , but still...........That is a smokin' deal!
Gotta get some pics up when you get her back.
