Is this a factory paint job on this 01 Diablo?

I was cruising "zoomthelist.com" today and stumbled across this 01 Diablo. It looks like the interior has had work along with the carpet, and gelcoat? Or... did mariah offer a black dash, carpet, and hull? Atleast i think it's black.

2001 18' Mariah 180 Diablo

Just curious - it looks like it needs some love.. but for $5000.00 it might be a good deal. My boat on the other hand (in my opinion) is in excellent shape. If this one has an asking price of $5000.00, I wonder what mine is worth? The only flaw mine has other than a little rust on the trailer - is the one piece of glass is now lexan (which still bums me) but it doesn't seem to be noticeable to anyone but myself.

Edit:
Actually...let me restate that I feel that mine, in it's original condition is very good. I don't think I would say excellent until I find a piece of glass - if ever. I also plan on refinishing the trailer this summer - so it will have a new coating of monsterliner to finish it off. I've already replaced bearings, added bearing buddies, rebuilt the winch and added factory covers to it, replaced all lights (USA made LED) and wiring. Once I find a new pair of the coiled cable style safety chains I will replace mine (or rather move them to my utility trailer since they do show some wear.

Any boat is only worth what somebody is prepared to pay for it...
Looking at that Ad I would suggest me and the seller have different idea's about "very clean and very well maintained"
If it's been used as a second or even third boat, and left standing for long periods of time as suggested then this poor old girl has been treated badly, Trust me on that!

All this taken into consideration and the fact that's it's a 4 pot I would say it was over priced! but hey you guys know your market better than I do.

As for the colour scheme ShabahZ280 could probably answer that if you got hold of the HIN number

you after another boat then Nick?

Not right now.. I'm actually thinking about buying my grandparents property and house - if so I might be selling the Mariah for the short term - and hopefully stepping up to a slightly bigger boat with a cuddy sometime down the road. Having my recent back surgery, a change in work projects, and now what has seemed to be "never ending" thunderstorms has been frustrating to say the least. My boat is still covered, still winterized, and has yet to see any water gliding below it's hull - instead it's only seen the type that falls from the sky upon it lol.

I would like a cuddy though so the kids could get out of the sun, and if it's not to unbearably hot...a place for them to take a nap after spending time on the lake or river. We used to go camping at one of the local lakes when I was younger and there was a family that used their boat instead of a tent after spending the evening on the water. They had a full camper top, and a nice folding staircase that they setup on their camp spot along with a big screen canopy for their picnic table. Since we recently sold our camper, I think a boat with "some" sleeping space would be a good compromise between buying another camper or a tent. I don't know though - that's thinking into the future and who knows that that will hold. I'm in no hurry to sell, if I ever sell. The boat will be officially paid off this year.. so I was only thinking about finding it a new home to help with the down payment or remodeling purposes. Then again, grandpa had a huge garage with enough space for the boat, the big Farmall tractor, my 2 Bolens tractors, and 4 cars... so I'd hate to have empty space that a perfectly good boat and other toys could live in lol.

It's a "I'm not sure" lol. I don't think I would have any issues selling it. I'm not sure what it is actually worth but the 3.0l is a popular motor here because of the price point and economy. If I could get 7-8 out of it I would be very happy. Seeing that other Diablo I'm think even 6-6500 wouldnt be unfair.. but again I have no clue on what it's worth to someone else :)

Nope, that's definitely not a factory gelcoat finish, especially with that lower white strip, I've never seen anything like that before, especially on a Diablo. Diablos were the entry line boats with the most limited amount of options available. I'd be about 98% positive saying that's not a factory gelcoating...

I didn't really understand what they were going for with that paint job. I have a feeling that close up pictures might show that it wasn't redone properly. .. but probably with a brush our rattle cans

ShabahZ280 - was the seating arrangement in the Diablo based on the motor configuration or was it optional? I have the 3.0l merc with the large fiberglass motor cover and the fold flat back to back passenger seat. I like the idea of the large bench and bigger sun pad... which I've seen in every Diablo except mine

Re: Is this a factory paint job on this 01 Diablo?

You know, that's an interesting question. I looked it up in the 2001 brochure, and there's a section on the "Standard Features" of the Mariahs. It has a photo of the motor box and says this:

"Custom fiberglass motor boxes, on all standard interior Mariahs provide additional insulation to minimize engine noise"

I'm guessing your interior is what they called "standard" and the bench was the "supersport" interior, which is one of Mariah's most popular layouts...
