I was having that problem on my 7.4 where the buzzer would go off at cruising speed even though the temperature was only reading 175°. I disconnected the wire to the sensor, removed the sensor to ID it then re installed it. It has not gone off since. Now I have an extra high temp sensor sitting around because I ordered a replacement. Oh well...

    Default alarm buzzer
    Debating on disconnecting the wire till after the holidays. I can't seem to get the part before we leave on vacation. Can I just run it without the high temp sensor connected? My temp gauge is working well.

    What part number was yours? The new one has a part number on it but it didn't match up with what I am finding online.
