Chariot spare tire mount
Hi all!
My Z210 came with a Chariot trailer. It, however, did not have a spare. I see a mount under the boat on the starboard side. It seems to be missing some sort of retention for the wheel (J-hook or big cartridge bolt). Any idea on where I can find this retention setup? Cheers Brett |
Re: Chariot spare tire mount
Being Chariot Trailers are no longer in existence as a business , I think your only option is to fabricate your own mounting rod or rods. A shop would probably set you up with something workable at a fair price.
A piece or two of 1/2" rod bent and threaded shouldn't be bad. Heck you can even use all thread if you want. :) |

My prestige also has this setup, but it did not come with any type of lock etc. I have not purchased a spare, but I did cut a few pieces of "composite board" that will lay down in mine to keep the tire from laying completely flat and rubbing the metal. I also purchased a generic masterlock cable lock with pad. My plan is to add some type of threaded stud setup similar to this:

Re: Chariot spare tire mount
I was lurking on ebay and found the ultimate carrier- it would be a great alternative to mounting your spare underneath - and I think I may just build one of these instead. This not only gives you the spare tire carrier - but also a hub assembly (which is nearly impossible to find and replace on a weekend - away from home). I also found a nice jack that I will be buying (it can be mounted on the trailer as well). I will link both below.
