AC needed for Z302 (any Ideas?)
Boat is running better than ever and loving it. Problem I have now is my wife and I tried to sleep on the boat this past weekend and the fan was not enough. We really are needing some AC, even a portable unit. Not sure a hatch unit would work since the hatch windows are small and dont open all the way back. Has anyone figured out anything small enough and portable to use? I have a slip and shorepower for electricity.

Re: AC needed for Z302 (any Ideas?)
I know some Z302's were equipped with A/C systems in the cabin, so it is possible. I'm just not sure where the whole compressor and everything would fit in the Z302, it's pretty large. I do know the unit in my Z280 is made by Ocean Marine Air, who is no longer in business, I believe Mariah used them for a lot of their OEM systems.

AC needed for Z302 (any Ideas?)
I'm on my phone so searching old threads is tough but look under the project threads I'm pretty sure someone fab something out of a walmart window unit and mounted down on the cubby under the TV. Looked clean

Re: AC needed for Z302 (any Ideas?)
I have no idea if this will work for your 302 but it's supposed to be an original equipment Mariah AC unit...on eBay.

Re: AC needed for Z302 (any Ideas?)
16000 BTU is friggin' huge for that boat! Especially since the entire mid-cab area is roughly the size of a queen mattress. My Z280 has a 9000 BTU unit, and that's for the whole boat! I would assume any 5000/6000 BTU unit would be perfect. Plus they're usually the smallest in size too.
I'm not entirely sure that unit on ebay is an OEM Genuine Mariah unit. The company specializes in retro-fits, and there's no model/part number or images that show it's for a Mariah. I'm guessing they're just using some clever marketing in their ad, since a few of their other ads list brand names in the title. |
Re: AC needed for Z302 (any Ideas?)
I am very interested in this me and the wife love camping, I also have the 2001 Z302 and love it even have the aux plug on the side of the boat for generator hook up

Re: AC needed for Z302 (any Ideas?)
that serial by TILLERX is quite creative! if you have the room that would be the way to go. 16000btus is way much. we install 18000btu ac units in 800 sq ft condos.

Re: AC needed for Z302 (any Ideas?)
I am going to install a CUDDY DC AC (Cuddy DC Self Contained Unit, R134A with Mechanical Control). Expensive but it can be done $4,000. For further info contact: Gary, Master Dealer of 2012 Wesbasic Marine Products. [email protected] ITRmarine Marine Products & Air Conditioning. AC cost with everything ready for install...ex... lines, sea water kit everything is $3.000 Labor is $1,000> I am getting it installed next month in my 1999 Z260 Cuddy Cabin. it is a 12vruns on its own battery when at sea and a 110 when on shore. It sounds awsome see what happens...so it is possible to get one proffesionally insatallled>>>>>>>>>>>>

If what you have looks like either of these: http://content.westmarine.com/images...ull/147421.jpg http://content.westmarine.com/images...ull/147454.jpg Then that's your shorepower hookup. You use this while at the dock to have AC power. You should have a long yellow cable to use with this. It's not for a generator. If what you have is on the back of your boat and looks like this: http://www.nationalmarineproducts.co...os/16310-2.jpg Then that's just the hookup for the battery charger. |
Re: AC needed for Z302 (any Ideas?)
Thanks for clarifying i do have the on shore hook up,
Any idea if they make an adapter for it? |
Re: AC needed for Z302 (any Ideas?)
You'll need something like this:
http://content.westmarine.com/images...l/12998340.jpg Just be prepared, any of these shorepower adapters usually cost about $80 |
Re: AC needed for Z302 (any Ideas?)
Thank you i will look for this

Re: AC needed for Z302 (any Ideas?)
Search for "Marinco Shorepower Adapter". That should give you what you need. Also, if you've got a West Marine around, I'm sure you could find it there. Or, check ebay, occasionally they'll show up there too.
