Default Bilge pump rewire question

I have a 96 Shabah 180 and I was wanting to know how to wire a straight 2 wire bilge pump...reason I ask is that there was no bilge pump in the boat and I have 5 wires out of a harness capped off. I'm guessing the pump was 3 wires and 2 of the others were the auto pump switch.

So this is my solution to at least having a bilge pump without playing "eeni, meeni, miini mo" etc with the 5 wires.

Am I right in saying I run from battery (+) to fuse holder, fuse holder to one side of switch, then other side of switch to positive (black wire) on pump...then brown wire from pump straight to battery (-) ?

Would a 10amp fuse suffice or would a 20 be too much, its a 650gph pump..

Thanks

Why not use your original wiring.

    Brown - Positive
    Brown/White - Auto Switch Positive
    Black - Ground

The wiring for your boat is available to contributing members.
You can check out all the benefits here.

A 5 amp fuse should work. That size pump will draw around 2.5 - 3 amps.

So as I have a 2 wire pump, just use the brown and black...Got it...

I see that..printed wiring diagram for the boat. My goal is to get everything else wired in the next couple of days so I can take it out on the water for the first time.

    Things to do:
    Connect bilge pump: check
    Change nav bulbs
Find a midget who can crawl under the dash and check the fuses for blower and bilge!

No doubt, I was wedged last night as I was working on changing a very tired looking trim inline fuse, changed it from glass style to blade style..I thought the missus was going to have have to get me out with WD-40 and a tire iron lol

Just wondering if anyone has a diagram of the fuse panel for a Shabah, that would help out big time!
