Looked on craigslist in my area and this old girl showed up. The add said 1996 23 footer with a 350 mercruiser. Any idea what model this is ? Is it a good buy ?

I'd be surprised if that is a 23' Mariah particularly riding on a single axle trailer but i could be wrong. I believe it is a Talari because of the shape of the side glass but the 1996 Talari bowrider models came in a 201, 209, 220, 240 and none of those are 23' long. It doesn't seem to have the hull shape of the 220 or 240 so if i had to guess just based on that one pic i'd say a Talari 209... and that's assuming that it really is a 1996. Ask the vendor what the last two digits of the Hull ID are. That will be the model year. If you get the entire hull id# you can send it to our admin (ShabahZ250) via private message and he will give you all of the details from our factory build sheets.

I will try to get hin today from the owner. If I am Interested in buying this boat any idea of what I should look for or any problem area's on a 1996 build.

Looks like a Talari . But it doesn't look like a 23ft boat to me. Maybe a 209?

Ok found out it is a 1996 209 se, man you guys are good !!!! So he wants $4750.00 the engine has been recently replaced and it now has a 4 barrel marine carb. The interior is in fair condition and needs some love. Is this a good buy ?

Around here she books out at around 7 grand according to NADA. They seem to be low alot......so yeah I'd say it's probably worth it.
But , take it out for a run before you do any commitments.
Check all electricals , gauges , fluids , etc.
Be thorough.........you don't want to end up with a flower planter.
So many people rush into a buy situation and then find all kinds of problems after it's too late.
