Depth Gauge Not Working
Hey all, I am a new Mariah owner, as I just purchased a '96 Talari 225 (Possibly Z as it has the decals), as of right now the depth gauge flashes 0, from the research I have done it appears that it may be related to air pockets in the epoxy on the transducer? Any input would be helpful as to other possibilities or on how to troubleshoot this issue (I am not even sure where the transducer is mounted, on the back of the transom there is only a small unit that looks like a water wheel which I am assuming is for the speedometer).
Thank you, Dan |
Re: Depth Gauge Not Working
This is a very common question and with a site search you will find a number of threads discussing the same problem. Transducer is likely a thru hull unit which is mounted underneath the front portion of your engine. It could be epoxied in place or it could be a sealed oil bath mount and in either situation the transducer has likely come loose and requires re-setting in its mounting position. Good luck though with the contortions required to get at the transducer....

The wheel would be for your trip monitor on the boat.
