Default Does anyone know what this is?

Does anyone know what this black tube goes to? I noticed it today when I was installing the Trim Tabs. Just curious. Also, (I don't want to sound un-educated) but what is the black square that is mounted to the rear of the transom with the spinning wheel inside for? I'm guessing speedometer, but I thought it was built into the foot of the out-drive? I have a z210 /Bravo1 if it matters.

Thanks everyone,
John

Ohhh Cool! Thanks Mark. The reason it caught my eye was that it was just dangling. Where should i plug it into?

Checked it out today..Is there some sort of connector that should be mounted to foot that the hose plugs in to?

There should be a mounting bracket located on the bottom edge of your transom that the transducer attaches to and then the black tube will attach to that piece. Its actually air pressure that operates the speedo rather than water. If the bracket is broken or missing you will need to replace it or you may have to replace the entire cable/transducer/bracket. Note though that they are 'brand specific' so you will need that info. You can usually find then at iboats, West Marine, Bass Pro, ebay or most boating electronics shops.

Great, i still have the mount and transducer on the hull. As for the dangling black hose on the out-drive (Picture), what do i do with that? This must be why my speedo does not function. Lol

If reattaching to the leg is not an option then you could fit a transom mounted pitot like i have on mine
