Z302 with Arch?
Has anyone ever seen a radar arche on a Z302? Or is that just tabu?

Re: Z302 with Arch?

Re: Z302 with Arch?
Thant looks good, do you have any of your order details? Do you think that would be the same size for the Z302? Also in the first picture is that the bimini rail pushed forward without the canvas?

Re: Z302 with Arch?
This isn't my boat, or my order, so I have no info for you. I just found this on Atlantic Tower's website a few years ago.
Try getting in touch with Atlantic Towers, they'll probably have all the answers you're looking for! http://www.atlantictowers.com |

Re: Z302 with Arch?
That's a great looking arch too. I'll be fabricating as i go but I'll post pics or PM you the details
The plan is a metal inner super structure alum. or light weight steel steel likely cheaper and easier to work with but strong enough to hang on wrapped in fiberglass and painted wired for speakers and lights. Really like the sunseta bimini set up. Howard you in north Texas? |

Re: Z302 with Arch?
I'm just 3.5-4 hours north of you, Verdigris, OK just northeast of Tulsa. If it turns out to be something you like in can bring it down for a closer look.

Well thought I'd update on the progress
Got the boat out of storage and over to the fab shop this weekend for some test fitting Turned out to be a little more of a art then science trying to get the angles to look right without making a super tall arch or a really swoop forward look as the floor to top rail on the z302 is much higher then most trailer boats with arches the idea to have a finished look like a chaparral tower. After fitting the first main beams I had bent it made the total trailer ride height over 13'. Which makes her a tree trimmer around the lake roads here. So I started bending again and ended up with a 11'10" ride height. Returned "OFF DUTY" back to storage last night as we are expecting snow midweek and she doesn't fit in the shop with 3 fire trucks we have to test this week. So I'll build a mock up jig of the top rail tomorrow to finish up. The end result well hopefully look something like what HowardZ302 sent me. Side note I was able to get the swim platform main frame all bent and tacked up as I didn't need as many hands to hold up or bend and hold these pieces ( 65 degree days so I let the boys run there karts on the 1/8 mile track we built over the winter at the shop as we all have them up here for down time think tanks) any how back to work. I'm going for a performance/offshore look on this one. The main hoop is 1 1/2" .065 tube and the main floor is 1 1/2"x1" oval tube to made a smoother feeling walking surface the corner are cut for cup holders to rest in. Here is the idea of what the end will look like but fitted to a curved hull. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |
Re: Z302 with Arch?
Cant wait to see it as it comes together. The Chapparell is definately a sharp looking arch. Whats up with the swim platform? Is this another creation for our Z302's???
|
Yes it is :). Something I've looked at doing on my passed boats but never got to
A buddy has had a few of them on his pass boats and loves them but I'm not the kind to spend a ton on something I can do myself. The fiberglass one I had quoted was just under 2k. just wasn't the look I was thinking Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |
Re: Z302 with Arch?
It looks really cool, I wonder how much more distance it adds to the rear of the boa? I back in at our 30' slip and the nose already sticks out just a little.

26" to the furthest point in the middle Enough to cover the drive with it all the way up
Plus a few inches We can make any length you want. If you store it in the slip drive up then we can make it just cover that and not add any length Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |
