Engine starting problems

Hi all, after a couple of weeks of not using the boat I will go to start it up and will have issues.
First I have 1 gel battery and the volt meter will read around 5 volts. (low I know) Then I will turn the key and I will hear it just click. after maybe 5-10 times of trying and clicking it will turn over and start. After have run for 10min its fine on the water for the day and volts will go to around 12 volts. This happens every time when left for a couple of weeks or more . Anything I can check.......Have sx18

I'm no mechanic, but it sounds like your battery isn't holding a charge anymore. I'd take it to a local autoparts store and have it tested.

You need to check and see that you don't have a draw from a accessory somewhere. One thing I learned is if the internal regulator looses a diode in the alternator it can cause a short , which in turn can cause a draw.
Also check your cables , from your description , sounds like loose cable/wire possibly also.
As allz stated you need the battery tested also. If it is getting that low all the time it has probably destroyed it.
