Default New trailer z252 shabah le

Hello Everyone

My boat is in great shape, but my old (rusted out) Chariot trailer has just about had it. Been looking for a replacement, but can't find anything that fits properly. I've been a welder in the piping trades for over 47 years so I decided to take the measurements off the old trailer anad build a new one just like her.Thinking of installing elect. brakes rather than hyd.,she wil be used mostly in fresh water here in Okla., and surrounding states. Any of the members have any thoughts about the brakes, know elect.&water don't mix very well. Axle ratings, spring lengths,& fender widths have all changed from when the old 97 was built. Tore down the generator and replaced some of the wiring on my old 77 SA-200 Lincoln welding machine and got her runing and welding sweet.Any pros or cons would be apreciated Thanks Wayne 344

JMO wayne but I would think it would be a lot cheaper to buy a trailer than build it. Materials alone for a trailer that size has got to be alot.
On the other hand if you got the time and the money , go for it! It would be cool to say you built your own trailer!

thanks for your comments Larry, I have a friend that has a welding shop in Marlow Ok & can get me the material for around 1700, Think i can build & paint it for less than 2500,will use my wheels and tires. The old gold mod.wheels look great but can't be found anymore. I'll go visit next wk. and get final pricing ,will keep the board informed . Great site, thanks for all the hard work.Wayne 344
