Friction grease

just thought i'd through this out in case it might help other members. Rick &R&R Yachts told me to never use 2 4 c grease on the input shaft of my Bravo 1 when its reinstalled .The clutch hub is made of aluminum, he advised to use mercruiser blue grease of just go to napa and ask for friction grease, the real thick and gooey kind.he said the regular grease brakes down quickly because of engine heat.Anyone out there have any thoughts on this.

Re: Friction grease

This per the Mercruiser manual....

Tube Ref No. 91, part# 92-802869 1
Description: Engine Coupler Spline Grease
Where Used: Driveshaft splines and U-joint O-rings

From what i've read, 2-4C isn't used on the above.
