Need to pull the sending unit
Gas guage is stuck on full. Anyone have any idea of the best way to pull the sending unit on a 96 shabah 180se?

I've never pulled it, but on my Shabah it's easy to access. On my boat you simply flip over the back seat and there is a little panel in the floor directly in front of the engine. Flip that up and you have access to the sending unit. It's right on top of the gas tank.

Mine is in the same spot, same design. If i remember correctly, lift the carpet to access the panel, undo the 2 screws and you have access to the sending unit.

Thanks for the insight guys. It was an issue I had before winterizing. I plan on getting in there sometime in March but wanted some ideas before I started tearing up the carpet. When I lift the seat there is no visible panel. I will take a look at where the carpet ends. I will post pics if I have issues.

In my case i have the 2 jump seats at the back rather than a bench style seat. The panel should be right in the middle directly in front of the engine. I have to admit i didn't know it was there until i read one of the others' post about the mfr accidentally driving the screws down thru the gas filler line!!

Have you isolated it to the sender unit? The reason I ask is that full equals a resistance value input to the gauge of = or > 250 ohms, so an open circuit would make your gauge read full.
