Anyone upgrade the stereo in a 96 Shabah 180?
So I am looking at upgrading the stereo, nothing crazy just new head unit, 4 - 6.5 in rounds and a 10 inch sub with a mild amp.
I can handle making the holes a bit larger for the front speakers but where have people installed the rears? Also anyone install bow speakers? The rear seat base is not tall enough to accommodate the speakers below the seats and I am not wild about cutting into the pads that run along the upper part of the boat. Anyone done this, any recommendations? Lastly, good mounting spots for the amp? The sub? Any experiences you can share, any pictures? Thanks guys! :wink_thumbup: |

I don't have answers to your specific questions about placement, but I can help you with getting the actual stereo equipment. I used to work for shop in Columbia doing car audio and I've done a couple of boats down at the lake of the ozarks. I still have a account with a distributor in Lenexa. If you want I can get you whatever you want at cost, if that helps you.
I can get MTX, Rockford Fosgate, and Kenwood. Let me know 573-289-1521 Eric |

3 Attachment(s)
I just finished upgrading my stereo on my Z190 Shabah SE. I attached a few photots of the subs and speakers. I did not have photos available of the amps (mounted to the left side of the wood engine surrounding) nor do I have a photo of the extra (5 total) speaker in the center of the bow of the boat by the feet.
Happy boating! |

Nice set up! I am going a tad bit more subtle. Kenwood KMR 550U head unit, four 6.5 infinity rounds (maybe expanding to 6 someday) and one 10 in sub (undecided as yet on brand) and the MB Quart NAU 660 Amp. Your pics really give me some ideas though. Hey where does one secure "marine grade" wiring for the amp and speakers and what not? |
