Ignition switch replacement - W,X,Y, or Z?
Mine was really simple to remove, the cylinder should have a threaded ring/nut on the outer side of the dash, once that is removed the switch should just pull out the underside of the dash.
While my wires to the were not very long I laid on my back and was able to grip the switch and screwdriver remove the connections and reconnect to the switch. Reinserting the switch back into the dash was little trickier, only because you have to do it feel. But once in the hole the threaded ring went back on easily. Cost wise, the cylinder & key was still far cheaper than 4 keys, 3 of which you can't use (then what if it's not a Mariah switch?) |
Re: Ignition switch replacement - W,X,Y, or Z?
Thanks again Brian
I will look at it this weekend It looks like thats my best bet is to buy a swtch and key and try that. Dont know if thats the answer to my problem but it should eliminate the the electronic switch as the problem I have been trying to get a mobile machanic to look at the boat But cant seem to find one to come out. Thanks again for you quick response and suggestion Regards Bill |
