1992 1900z windshield
Ive had my boat for 12 years but am new to this site and happy to have found it as some drunk who didnt know how to anchor his boat drifted into me today and broke the port side of my Talor Made windshield Then left while I was making sure everybody was ok and looking for my shoes so I didnt get sliced to bits.....It was the clear curve glass that I'm resonable sure will be impossible to find. Does anyone know of any way to get Taylor Made replacement glass....? I think they are OOB? from my preliminary searching online
Thanks Paul |
Re: 1992 1900z windshield
That "where can i find glass" question comes up here about once per week and the only question asked more often is "where can i find a manual". ;)
I'll go one step further & tell you that finding glass for that boat will be absolutely impossible from Taylormade. Do a site search here for "glass" or "windshields" and read about the trials & tribulations of many of our members in obtaining replacement glass. Other alternatives are Ocean Dynamics Ltd or Marine Glass Specialties in Florida. Both can make replacement glass but your wallet will suffer badly... I've deliberately left out the link to Marine Glass Specialties website as it looks like it was hacked this weekend. A second option is to have a replacement section made out of acrylic by a local plastics vendor or do it yourself if you are handy. Here's a link to one of our members who did just that. |

I suppose I knew the answer before I even posted the question. My appologies. Thanks for the help though. Still learning my way around here

Re: 1992 1900z windshield
No need to apologize Paul. About 5 yrs ago I went thru the same thing you're going thru and ended up going the acrylic route because of the $$ & difficulties with Taylormade. Actually Taylormade has been able to supply a few of us with glass but only for some models as far back as the '97 model year.
I assume by your post you weren't able to collar the *sshole? |
