my Mariah sunk

We docked our boat for the first time on Mother's day evening. Got a call from our Marina Monday morning saying she sunk. After examination, it was determined that the bilge system failed. We have been devestated....

sorry about your boat. I was checking over my boat this weekend and found out that my bilge didn't work when the batter switch was turned off but works on all the other settings worked last year but not now.

yes....it sucks, and is a bummer......that has been established. Unfortunately (?) our 94 Barchetta was "just rolled off the showroom floor" pristine. So have not seen one out that for what the insurance paid that comes even close to our Barchetta :(

Does anyone have any opinions or experiences you could share about refurbishing one that has gone down? we bought the salvage rights to her....the only thing (physically) missing is a cup holder from the front bow. I would be interested to know your thoughts....

Boatcrazy went through the exact same thing.... Don't know what kind of budget you are working with, but it can be done! http://www.mariahownersclub.com/foru...094-again.html

I wish you the best of luck getting her restored!

I'm sorry to hear this. Were you able to bring it back to the surface without any damage? was it in fresh water or salt water? How long was it under, and was it full submerged? I bet it could be fixed fairly easy.. and well worth keeping. Do you have any pictures? I don't know how much the insurance gave you, but hopefully enough that you can refurbish the boat since replacing it isn't possible.

Good luck! I hope everything works out. Keep us posted!

Re: my Mariah sunk

nglauer: it sank in fresh water and was under probably a total of 12-15 hours. passenger side of front bow and (perhaps) the dash were not submerged. with what the insurance gave, NO WAY could replace this beauty.....she was meticulous. we are in the process of cleaner her up over the weekend, and she is running. believe it or not alternating is charging and the new starter we installed prior to going under is turning over like a champ. all gauges are working . since it was the automatic bilge system that failed that must be fixed/replaced. there is hope.......:wink_thumbup:
