Default Installing trim tabs found water.

I have yet to get boat out this year and am finishing my list of things to do during the winter. I put the much needed trim tabs on today and when drilling the holes that the tabs mount to water came out of two holes on one side of the boat. Of the 6 holes on that side only two leaked water and not a lot of water maybe a tablespoon each. The two that leaked were the furthest from the bilge. I looked around and it seems to be a sealed area. My cover must have leaked as there some water sitting on the floor in the area above the holes but the holes are below the floor level. The boat sat outside but covered all winter with both the cockpit cover and the moring cover. I sealed the moring cover before putting it on for winter but with snow it is bound to leak some. Should I panic or will it just dry out. It has rained a lot in the last week. The wood that came out of the other holes didnt seem too damp. The other side of the boat all the holes were dry and the wood was dry.

Sorry so long winded.

Will be taking it out next week to try new tabs, prop, stereo and check the timing on the ignition system.

when I installed mine on the port side, I too got water out of the furthest holes. not the lowest (towards the V in the bottom) holes.

The wood that came out of mine was dry as well, but the water was VERY stinky

I had the very same experience with my diablo 180 when installing my tabs, and the water was very foul, as if it had been stuck there a long time. I had around 1/8th cup of water total if even that.
