Default Smart Tabs Install

Ok, I just ordered my smart tabs. I wanted to start this thread just for installation purposes for those with installation questions. Not for "Should I buy or Not" questions.

That said, does anyone have any tips and/or pics showing the mounting locations for a 1997 210 Shabah LE?

I would install them as far apart as you can for best results. You should be able to get a feel for the best location just postioning them at the correct angle using a cardboard template and seeing where the top of the strut ends up.

The angle of the strut doesn't seem to affect performance, so have a friend help you hold it in place and see what looks the best.

Hey Razor.....wait till you get the swim deck from Kelly, cuz there will be 4 bars you have to install in the same location. I would install deck, then swim tabs. Either way....your drilling lots of holes in the bottom of your boat!

I went ahead and installed the smart tabs first because I wanted them as far apart as possible. Then I mounted the swimdeck because I could put the support poles anywhere I wanted. Both were pretty easy to install. and ya, I had to drill lots of holes.26 holes for the swimdeck install and 16 holes for the smart tabs. I figures that was enough holes drilled and bought a "Liquid Lite" underwater light kit that requires no holes be grilled (It screws into the drain plug).

How do you like the smart tabs? Can you tell a noticable difference? Also, what kind of exhaust are you running? Tabs and exhaust are the two things that my boat doesnt have that I'd like to add.

Sorry for the long delay, but I LOVE the "Smart Tabs". They really do help with the "slow speed wander" and "Hole shot bow rise". see pics of the installed tabs in my above post. (Love the swideck too).

Looks like a nice clean install of both rayzor.
You did cut down those bolts under the swimdeck right?

I couldn't live without a dremel! They work awesome for cutting in tight places anywhere on a boat.
So how much did the swimdeck end up costing you if you don't mind?
