Estimated top end speed???

We just bought a 2000 222 with a "0" hour rebuilt 350 Mag and a Bravo III outdrive and factory Corsa exhaust. The boat currently has 26 pitch props with a 2.20 gear ratio. We will be running on a lake at 6000 ft. I believe we will have to change out the props to a lower pitch which I will do once we get her on the lake and find out the WOT rpm's. But my question is what should I expect to get for a top end speed once she it properly setup????

Every boat is unique, and it will greatly depend on the prop. But since your just asking for opinions, I say no problem in the mid 50's and you should be able to get 60 properly propped.

Let us know. And congratulations on the new ride.

My 23' with a 350 bravo III unsure of pitch props on the GPS ran 46-48 WOT

Thanks, I am hoping for 45 plus, 50 would be great especially at 6000ft.

Hi
I have a Z222, 2001 with a 496 HO MAG with a Bravo 3 drive, 30" props I have gotten 62 miles per hour on it. I think you should get in the mid 50s which is preaty fast on the water, I am sure you will be happy with the results
Regards
Bill

Big Red is only slightly comparable, but this is my story and I am sticking to it. The 1997 Z210 with a 5.7LX Alpha drive and 21-inch 3-blade ss prop has seen 54 mph on the GPS with just me on board at 800 ft msl. She'll make 50 with a full load of passengers.

Re: Estimated top end speed???

I thank you all for the responses it is amazing how similar boats will get such different out comes with top end speed. I forgot to add that this is not a stock 350 Mag, it has forged pistons, different cam, and has been ported and polished. We are expecting 325 hp and a much better torque curve.

I bought the boat with a cracked block (due to improper winterization) and had a block build for this, thought about a 383 stroker but opted for a mild power increase over the cost.

We are picking it up on Thursday, can't wait to it to warm up enough to get her on the lake. I will post the results when we get them.

Had my boat out this weekend, the speedo read 54mph @ 4100 rpm. Does that sound right? Don't remember what kind of prop I have.

Re: Estimated top end speed???

i also just purchased a 2000 Mariah 222. It has 142 hours on the boat, with an aftermarket fuel injected 350 mag (10 hours on the motor). It has 24 pitch dual props, bravo III, etc... I took it for its first run last Sunday, and we hit 54 at 3/4 throttle. I didn't open the throttle all the way up. I think it would hit 58-60 as it is now. If I were to go up in prop pitch, I could easily get 60+. Let me know how things go with your boat, I'm really curious as to how it performs for you.

That sounds too fast to believe. My speedo reads 5 MPH fast. Did you check the speed using a GPS?
