Looking for Mariah Advice

Hey guys.. I am new to the site and am need of some advice.
I am looking at a 1994 Mariah Talare z240 that is for sale. It seem like a good deal to me but I need help as I am not that familiar with Mariah.
The boat is an open bow and in pretty clean condition, interior is all good just on small rip in the bow cushion. It is the teal green and white color it needs a really good buff and wax job. It is powered by the volvo 7.4 with the volvo dual prop. Is this a good power package? It does need the gas struts for the engine hatch as they do not seem to support the hatch.

I have the chance to buy it for $7500 Does this seem like a good price for the described condition? Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Rob

Re: Looking for Mariah Advice

That Z240 is a very popular model here on our site and if its in clean & well maintained condition (does the vendor have maintenance records?) it may be worth looking closely at. Note though that at this time of year there is always room for some negotiation on the price. That 7.4 will make her 'get up & go' and provide all of the power you will ever need with that particular boat. Unfortunately i cant speak regarding the Volvo package as i've never owned one. Is there a link to this boat that we can view?

There is no link to it as it is a private seller that I ran across while doing a job. He has a sign on it in the driveway.

I was looking at the NADA guide and it shows it between $9000 and $11000, that seems a bit high.

Welcome Areohbe
I am a "newbie" as well and I did not know anything about a Mariah until I found one for sale as well. What I did find out that these boats are "Built like no other" and the folks on this site have a wealth of info and are very passionate about them. My boat is a 96 23' with a cuddy and I paid 13k and according to NADA it was a fair price. These boats seem to hold thier value and that sounds like a good price. Also NADA value does no include the price of the trailer.

I had to replace the gas shocks on mine as well and here is the link to the thread http://www.mariahownersclub.com/foru...as-shocks.html
and there is a link to the place where I ordered them from and I think I went with a shock that had 67lb lift to them and they worked fine. The auto parts store has plenty of them but no info on them such as lenght open, closed and lift lb.

Good luck and I hope this helps!!!!
