What size and length shocks did you use? Also how many lbs of force are they? and how does the hatch stay down and not constantly try to spring open? I just bought a 1994 talari z200 I need to do the same thing to mine.

Re: Engine Hatch Gas Shocks

I was able to measure where my brackets were located and I determined the closed length then I held the hatch open to where I wanted it to be and measured to get the open length. If you go to the link listed earlier on in the thread you can search by using your measurements then choose the lb force. I cant remember what I got and the boat is sealed up for the winter I want to say they are @90lb but not positive. I was concerned about the hatch coming open so I got a strap for each side of the hatch with a snap on them from my canvas guy. I have forgot to snap them and not had a problem but I try to make sure they are snapped for my piece of mind.

Looks great! I just did mine for a winter project. I should have done them last summer, they made life much easier!
