2000 Mariah Z182 Shabah

I am considering buying this boat. The AD for the boat reads

__________________________________________________ _____________________

This 2000 Mariah Z182 Shabah has just been serviced, and everything has been brought up to date. New Bilge Pump, New prop, new starter, new Trim motors, New dock lines, new bumpers. Everything is in Great shape. Trailer just serviced with new bumps.

Mariah is one of the nicest boats on the market. This boat rides smooth and fast across the water. Dual batteries mean you'll never be stranded. the 3.0L Mercruiser Inboard has just over 200 hours, runs perfectly, and just sips gas, but still has enough power to pull tubes, skiers, or whatever you like. Runs out to 50mph. CD player, Wood trim dash, Depth finder, swim steps, trim indicator and more all work great. Bow Cover and cockpit cover are included but rarely used since this boat is stored inside.

This boat is totally turn key and comes with everything you need including life jackets, ropes, fire extinguisher, etc.

With all of the extras, NADA on this boat is over $11,000! Prices for a quick end of season sale at only $7980.

I have to admit I know nothing about this particular brand of boat. No way I can get a handle on the price and description and know if I am getting something I really will want or if the deal is a good one.

Can someone(s) give me advice? Thanks in advance.

The Z182 is a nice boat, has lots of features and if well maintained would be an excellent first boat choice. However...there are a couple of things about his ad that are a little 'off'. There is no way that boat will 'run out to 50mph' unless it has a wildly optimistic speedo. At the very best you might get 42-43. And while that 3.0L will sip fuel it will have to work hard to pull skiiers & tubers around unless propped for this type of work. If you aren't worried about those two issues then the boat sounds like a good buy although it may be just a touch overpriced given the time of year.

Thanks for the quick response. Do you have feel for the right price?

Just for input sake, I have a 1998 182 Shabah with a 3.0L.. With a 21px14.25" aluminum 3 blade prop it tops out at 38mph with half a tank of gas, gear, and 2 adults and 1 child on board. It pulls tubes just fine but I put the 19p prop on to pull skiers or wakeboarders.

Mine has similar hours on it, I am around 230hrs (my father was the previous owner) but we've never had to replace the starter, trim motor, or bilge pump.. That kind of makes me think this thing took on some water and burned up the bilge pump and soaked the trim motor and starter since they're mounted low. Just do a really good inspection. :wink_thumbup: They are a great boat!

Hi, last spring I bought a 182 Shabah ltd edition, yr 2000. 4.3 L V6 carburated. Mariah boats have a deep V, are bigger than a std boat and heavier. Mine has 190 hp and I think that is the bare min this boat needs. I would not recommend a 3.0 L. I tried 4 props and am now pithed back to a 19p, Laser II, and am fairly happy with that. I would prefer a 4.3 MPI 220 hp but could not find one in red colour. Fantastic boats...

I dont have a strong feeling about price but i think around $7k might be reasonable. Perhaps the other 182 owners can share their thoughts?

I think 7K is indeed a good price point; I paid mine -also a 182 BR from 2000- 7000 Britisch Pounds incl. a bunktrailer. The asking price was also 10 K! You may not get it at that price as 10 K seems to be a typical asking price but I would certainly try.

The price I got mine for probably won't be to helpful since I bought it from family, but I paid $4,500 for my 98 with about 209hrs with the original prestige trailer in the spring of 2010..I'm in Missouri.
