Dimmer Switch

Anybody know where I can buy a replacement dimmer switch for my Z280? I know it was made by Carlingswitch but cannot find any place to purchase a replacement.

Re: Dimmer Switch

Dont know what to tell you here Steve. When i did a site search on the dimmer switch i see a few other members with the same problem but no solutions. Perhaps you could contact Carling Technologies & ask them if they have something similar? They might require the part number off the existing dimmer though.

Re: Dimmer Switch

Do you need to just replace the switch or the actual dimmer module? They're two different parts, if I remember correctly. The module is something like this:

Digital Dimmers - Blue Sea Systems

My dimmer is a single module, made of a printed circuit board attached to the back of a standard Carling Contura IV switch, see attached picture.

I have looked on the Carling website and they make a dimmer but it is an L series switch rather than a Contura IV and I do not think it will fit in my dash, not to mention that I cannot find any 12V versions of this LD series dimmer anywhere.

Perhaps Chris has the right idea, use the present Carling Contura IV switch, remove the printed circuit board and have it as an input to a separate dimmer module such as the the Blue Sea System.

Thanks for confirming that I wasn't missing something simple.
