Default Fuel Tank removal

I've got a 1998 245 Talari with a leaking aluminum fuel tank. Access is fairly easy through the deck cover, and I've removed the screws that attach it to the hull, but I can't get it loose. There's not much room to pry from the side. I can just get my fingers under the bottom, but can't budge it. Does anyone know if these tanks were originally glued or fiberglassed in? I'm thinking of making a screw-jack out of angle iron and half-inch allthread and trying to break it loose, but I thought I would ask the community first if anyone has had similar problems.
Thanks,
Kevin

Have a look thru this thread or this thread. We've had a couple of members do a tank replacement in the past so Roger's or Provo's experience may be of some help.

Thanks for the response. I finally got the tank out. The tank was not really glued in, but it was installed with rubber strips running lengthwise on the bottom, and they were stuck to the hull. I made the screw-jack described above, and was able to break it loose. Sure enough, I found a crack in of the welds. It took me a while to find a shop that would work on a used gas tank, but now it's getting repaired.

make shure there is a vent on the front of the tank if you have it out for ez gas filling it will be worth it.
