battery switch location problem

2 Attachment(s)
I'm working on a z222, i'm wondering if it came with a stock battery switch or if someone put this one in. The problem with it is it's under the electric hatch so if you turn it off you can't close the hatch. Maybe find another location? Any ideas?

Re: battery switch location problem

Yep, that's the original mounting location. Some members on here have purchased longer cables and relocated the switch elsewhere. Another member added a "jump point" where the battery system could be externally jumped using a booster pack without having to open the hatch.

However, the hatch should lift just enough manually to pull the pin from the actuator out of the bracket and it will allow the sunpad to be lifted up manually... It's heavy though, so be prepared!

Others have just removed the electric lift actuator completely and added gas springs so it opens manually. That's how mine was when I bought it.

Re: battery switch location problem

I have 2001 Z222 Thats where my switch is But with it turned off I can still open and close the hatch and I dont have any release pins in my actuators which makes it preaty heavy when the battery is dead But it can be lifted with effort . I would like to know how and where you can put in the connections for boosting with a power pack
thanks
Bill
