Were there ever any original Service manuals that had actual diagrams.

Mercruiser and Volvo Penta had wiring diagrams for their powerplants in the factory service manuals. Is it a engine problem, or a harness problem with the Mariah installed stuff like nav lights, blower, stereo, etc?
