Default King Cobra

Ok, reading some of the threads here it sounds like a King Cobra outdrive may be a problem for me. If this thing dies, short of a repower what are my options? It's on a 1991 model boat with a 5.7 chevrolet motor. Right now it shifts fine and seems to run fine. Are parts going to be an issue? The boat only has 180 hours on it and is solid, with no rot.

From what i understand it is very difficult to get parts for King Cobra outdrive now so swapping out (when needed) may be the way to go. Check out this site.

Could be worse. Try looking for parts for a stringer 800. lol. I thought Bombardier bought OMC at one point, surprised the later model Cobra's are difficult to find parts for.

It looks like the lower unit parts aren't hard to get. It doesn't seem so clear about the upper parts.
With only 180 hours on it I wouldn't lose any sleep over it at all. Just keep it maintained.
