Light Bulb Replacement

I am looking for a reaplcement bulb for the back 360 degree pop-up light. It says to get a "A127" bulb but I cannot find a cross reference. Any suggestions?

I couldn't find one either. Might be an idea to pop it out & take it with you to a local autoparts supply store and see if they can match it up.

Sounds like the perfect time to upgrade to an LED light.

I don't know. I remember reading on iboats.com that people were upgrading the bow red/green along with the stern white pole to LED. Brighter, last forever, and draw less power.

It's going to be more expensive than getting a $.99 bulb, but probably better in the long run.

Go over to iboats.com and do a search, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find.

Re: Light Bulb Replacement

I'm currently trying to replace all my lighting with LED's for this season.
Still having a hard time finding just the bulbs so i don't have to replace all the fixtures as well. So far the best site i've found is SuperbrightLEDS.com (never guess what they sell). Found a replacement for my bow light:
Super Bright LEDs ? Festoon Light Bulbs Mine seems to be the 3610 x4.

Can't seem to match up the bulb for my stern light - Number i have on my OEM bulb is F1004 but i can't find a cross reference to it in the LEDs.
Also can't seem to find replacement bulbs for my courtesy lights yet.

Anyone else already go through this exercise and have the right LED replacement numbers?

B.T.W. i couldn't find much on the iboats site......

Yeah I couldn't find much either. Interesting if you punch in "LED" into the search at iboats, nothing comes up. I remember reading a post a couple of years ago that was really good. Someone wanted to leave their lights on while on the anchor. A lot of people had some great info on converting to LED, but I can't find it now.

If you figure it out, make sure you post it here. I'll be doing this upgrade soon.

Re: Light Bulb Replacement

This is what i think are the correct lights to replace the Nav lights:

Anchor/Stern Light
Existing F1004 or GE 90B = LED equivalent 1142-WW18-T - 360 degree beam

Bow Light
Existing Bayonet = 3022-WWHP4 - 120 degree beam

These are the ones that i think will directly replace the existing units. if anyone knows for sure please post the reply here.

Also don't know what the exisitng bulbs are for the courtesy lights. if anyone has one out that they could check or ideally if you know what the LED replacement is please post it as well.

Re: Light Bulb Replacement

Hey guys.. I've replaced my inside courtesy lights and purchased the bulbs through superbrightleds.com

bulb # for cool white is G4-WHP6-RAC the cost for each bulb is $11.95. If anyone can find them cheaper let me know. I took out one of the courtesy lights on the deck and it looks like this is the bulb; WLED-x-6V: 1 LED Wedge Base Bulb. I hope this is it because they're only $0.79.

I purchased a stern light because the light would not retract. The only one I could find is at Eddie Marine for $120.00
Eddie Marine : High Performance Marine Products and Hardware

I had my mechanic change it out but someone has already broken the top and now the light won't light. Now that I'm thinking about it I wonder if it's covered in the service manual. In my Z260 it's practically impossible to get to.

Here is what I ordered from SuperBright for the courtesy lights and also work on the retractable anchor light...

WLED-CW5: Cool White

Brewfixer did you by chance replace the transom light and if so is it the same bulb as the courtesy lights? I'm ordering these and I failed to check that fixture.

Re: Light Bulb Replacement

Nope, the transom light bulb is completely different size than the courtesy bulbs...

I was goping to look at that this last weekend but was having too much fun. I also noticed how easy it was to access the instrument cluster lights and will be converting those over to LED as well.

Well you know we're all going to ask you the bulb size/# and how easy it is to do. Something tells me my 260 will be harder to do since my head is located against the helm. I do have an access panel on that wall in the head but it's been in the 90's down here so I don't think I'll do this until the fall or in cooler temps

Well you know the intent is there but like last week, too many big boy beverages impaired my ability to make a solid plans and execute them! I got as far as the courtesy lights. Should I have a "moment of clarity" this weekend, I will report back my findings on Monday...:wink_thumbup:

well the dash lights were not as easy I thought. i was only able to pull the 3 from the center gauges (RPM, Speed, Compass). The smaller gauges will require a 4 year old with tiny fingers or the removal of the gauge. The bigger gauges took the same LED lights as the courtesy lights. The transom light if it looks like the Attwood light in the picture below said to replace with a No. 90 bulb. I think SuperBright LEDs conversion is BA9s under marine bulbs.

By the way... Attwood does have a direct replacement 3 mile LED transom light if your willing to fork out $50+ for it. I'm in consideration right now.

The BA9 won't work as it's a single pole. Trust me, I tried just about everything they offered trying to find something that would work. I had a hell of a time, so I just gave up and replaced it with the Attwood incandescent replacement bulb from West Marine. I think the LED transom fixture they have is pretty sweet, and thought about replacing mine, but they were quite a bit more expensive when I was looking at them!

Yup! you are correct... The BA9 will not work. Minor detail missed by me. I can't stomach $50+ to convert to LED either. I'm sure with time we may find these fixtures on Ebay. Thanks

Found the LED bulb for the transom light. it is from here 9 LED Light Bulb - Automotive LED Lights - LEDLight
You will want the BA15D bulb which is a direct replacement for the #90 bulb and is available in 6 colors. Price is $5.99 each but I would suggest ordering a spare or other bulbs you may need since shipping (maybe just me) was $5.95 which makes it a $12 bulb.

I made an error on the gauge bulbs. It so happens that i had a couple of 194 type LED instrument bulbs mixed in with the courtesy light LED's. The 194 type is the correct LED for the bigger gauges. Next weekend I will minaturize myself and attempt to remove the smaller gauges bulbs for a looksee:eek_animated:
