Default Fuel Leak

OK Boys- Figure this one out. Fuel is dripping out of the drain at the transom. There is NO evidence of fuel in the hull, in the aft section under the engine or the ski locker. Included some pictures. I'm not even thinking about putting the battery in or starting the engine untill I know where it's coming from. The fuel lines are not leaking, and the water seperating filter is dry. The bottom of the hull is clean and dry under the engine too. I have checked everything and come up without an answer. If the tank was leaking, it would show evidence of gas in the hull, but it's dry as a bone! What's a Mariah owner to do?

Thats pretty strange all right, any chance it is coming out the vent and then trailing down the transom?

I never thought to look up high around the vent. That's a possibility. The temps here hit 90 degrees today, I wonder if the gas has expanded and pushed past the cap. That would explain the gas dripping down the transom. I'll check that and report back. Thanks for the reply--you may be on to something!

Zackattack- You were right! I had the tank too full, and when the temps rose to the 90's, the gas expanded, and ran out the vent. The fact that I raised the tongue to keep the water/snow off the cover, made the situation worse--it forced all the fuel to the back of the tank and up the fill pipe.I siphoned off 2 more gallons of fuel, and lowered the tongue to normal height. The leak has stopped, and now I'll leave the cover off and let the fumes evaporate. Thanks for your reply/solution!

All is not lost--That gas was bought in Oct. of 2010.I think I siphoned off about 4 gallons--I can use that in the lawn tractor. All in all, I think I lost maybe 2 gallons-some spilled on the concrete, some will evaporate. Thanks again for the advice! Now I can install the battery and go boating!
