Default Quicksilver info

So I just spent all last night reading thru both binders (manuals) that came with the boat, but I dont have any info on the Mercury Quicksilver Keyless engine start.

Can someone help me here ?

Ive read elsewhere that if the batteries have been disconnected, the unit defaults to the factory pass code. Does anyone know what that code is ?

How about changing it and setting my own personal code ? How do you do that ?

Then once youve done that, how do you start and stop the motor ?

We have the manual for the quicksilver ignition as well as many others in the contributors section. I went through all kinds of hell to get a copy of that manual, and it's what I used to program my new code. You can only program 2 new codes into it for the life of the unit. I was told you could call with the serial number and they could tell you the original factory code, but when I did, I was told they no longer support it, and the product has been discontinued for years.

A disconnected battery doesn't affect it, I completely remove my batteries over the winter, and it has remembered the code for the last 4 years.

Once you get the code, you punch it in, and hit the RUN button. This starts up your bilge blower and runs it for a few minutes. While the bilge blower is running, you can hold down the START button and the engine will crank. To stop the engine, you hit the STOP button. However the code still remains active, and the boat can be started by just hitting the RUN & START button. To lock the keypad, enter the code, and hit the stop button. It will beep twice to let you know it's locked.

if the unit is working, should you hear "beeps" when you press the buttons ?

Yep. You should hear beeps, and it will beep every few minutes while you use the keyless ignition to remind you it's on, or at least that's how mine works!
