I agree.. I watched some excellent videos on YouTube regarding the maintenance of Mercruiser engines & drives. I did replace my impellorkit and seals myself ( and a helpfull friend ) and it only took 4 hrs and a zillion replays of the instructionvideo to do ! Now i know my drive is really taken care for the way it should be and not by a mechanic that still has pimples on his forehead...

Impeller is No.1 on the picture?
And No. 2 is a water pump for internal circulation of water in the engine?

I believe that is correct. The impeller is the primary part of what is referred to as the Raw or Sea Water Pump (1) that extracts water from the lake, river, ocean, etc. by way of the drive unit to be circulated through the engine by the water pump (2). It is the same as the water pump on your car engine (assuming it is water cooled).
