Z300: Alarm
I just bought a z300 this past weekend. Out of no where this alarm starts beeping and wouldn't stop. All the gauges were within range.
What is it trying to tell me ? I turn the boat off for 20-30 seconds and started it back up and it went away, till I was near the dock and it started back up. |
Re: Z300: Alarm
The Mercruiser warning alarm tells you 3 things.
1) High Engine Temperature 2) Low Oil Pressure 3) Low Gear Lube Level Chances are, it's the gear lube reservoir. it's a plastic reservoir mounted on the port side of the engine. If it's full, the odds are that the sensor has gone bad. The whole reservoir with sensor will need to be replaced ($47 part). This is a fairly common problem. If it's not the gear lube reservoir, it could be one of your other sensors. You can locate the sensors by finding the tan wire with the blue stripe. |

Oil pressure is 25 at idle and 40+ at speed. Haven't checked the gear lube level....Ill do that next. |
Re: Z300: Alarm
Your 170 temp sounds within range but your oil pressure at idle is a tad bit on the low side but I do not think it is so low to cause the warning buzzer to go off.
