Has anyone used a hull cleaner called Slimy Grimy? If yes, do you know if it will harm a galvanized trailer?

Haven't used it myself, but I've heard it does. Usually any hull cleaner with acid will harm a Galvanized trailer. I found a solution, and while it is a pain, and takes a little longer it works for me and keeps my trailer in good shape. I work in sections, and use a heavy duty tarp to cover the trailer as I work.

Step 1: Cover trailer with tarp
Step 2: Apply hull cleaner and let sit for 1-2min
Step 3: Spray off and go over area with wet sponge
Step 4: Dry with towel
Step 5: Move tarp to next section and repeat until boat's clean.

Some people say keeping the trailer wet helps, but after my first experience with hull cleaner and the trailer, I've used a tarp ever since. Hope this helps.

That sounds like sound advice. My trailer is new and I don't really want to harm it.

Years ago, Four Seasons (the TreeWax people) had a hull cleaner that was applied like liquid wax. When applied, it did not appear to work very well, but once it was left for an hour or so, the boat was clean. It was a bit tough on bare hands, but there was no dripping. If only we could go back in time.
