Default My first post, what do you think of this boat?

Great site here glad I found it!

I have a down payment on this boat htt://www.quamsmotorsports.com/pre ...RO&veh=1799874 or click www.quamsmotorsports.com click pre-owned inventory and click on the 2000 Mararh Shabah

Pending the sea trial and compression test. Are these good boats? does the price seem in line?

It only has 105 hours on it which seems like very few for a ten year old boat. Thanks for your imput and I'm looking forward to posting on this forum!! PS

"Are these good boats?" ok, i'll pretend you didn't ask that one.

Boat looks very well maintained & serviced by the same dealer since new is a bonus since you should have access to the complete service records. The price seems just a tad high and i've never seen a purple & white one before (not that they dont exist but i've just never seen one) but pending a sea trial & some sort of warranty to be provided by the dealer she seems like a very nice boat.

Ya, purple is right! you should see it with it's cover on...It's purple also, It will look like a big grape in my driveway Maybe an upgrade in graphics would take some of the purpleness away. You don't notice it color when you inside the boat but I think everyone on the area lakes will know us real soon, you don't forget that color

I'm in Wisconsin, so I'm not really sure what the price for a Mariah like this would be? we don't see many of them here.

Looks to be in great shape. The price is high but I am not expert. Maybe closer to $8k since you have to probably pay taxes. If a V8 or a 200 series, then the price is closer to 9K. Interior looks mint. What about covers, bimini top, snap covers for cockpit or and bow? Those add up to more expense also.

Good luck with the trial and ask all the questions you can.

It does have a bimini top but no snap cover, it does have a new cover but is a full cover, seems to fit the boat and is also purple (where do you find purple boat covers? ha ha)

It's a V6 190 horse, should move quite well with that and still be ok on gas? I will have the impeller changed, the dealer says he has never changed it and it's the original one, but the boat has only 105 hours on it...still it ten years old.

I'm told the 2000 Mariahs are better then the newer models?

What wouldyou guess the weight of that boat to be? I will be pulling it with a Toyota 4Runner, do you think that would pull it ok? It does have the matching prestege trailer, I'm told they pull quite easily, not sure if they have brakes?

The V6 will move it along quite comfortably and it will be reasonably good on gas. The impeller should be changed every 3 yrs or so for peace of mind.

Yes, the original Mariah (the one you are interested in) is a better built boat than the new Mariah but the new ones are decent boats. Any older boat can be a problem though if it was not well maintained. Boat & trailer will be very close to 3500lbs so check your tow rating for your 4Runner. The trailer may or may not have brakes, you will have to check. The additional brakes will make it easier to stop.

You should be happy with it. For covers, trailering $200 for a readymade one and 600 for a custom made one.

Custom made Cockpit and bow cover around 800 total. Bimini 300 to 600 but you have one.

For towing, you should be fine but you will notice pulling the boat. I have an Armada with a V8 so my 96 200 Shabah just feels like it is part of the rig. I hear people pulling with just about anything and liking it. You just need to trailer safe and that is all that matters. If your 4 runner is a 4 cyl then you will have trouble feeling like it is a good fit.

A 2000 model is the original Mariah company.
    Best to you.

Check out iboats.com to price out anything you might want to buy for accessories.
