Mystery Water in floor locker
Rain water has collected in the floor locker closest to the bow near the windshield on the Z240 Talari. I can see a small round vent in the bottom. I cannot get the water to drain to the stern and out the plug hole. Not sure what is keeping the water in the floor locker. Carpet is wet where it has pooled. If I remove the drain cover, is there a drain down the keel that might be plugged with trash? I am clueless.
Most boats drain towards the stern so the bilge can pump it out or you can drain through the plug hole. 1995 Z240 Talari |
Re: Mystery Water in floor locker
I am having the same problem with my 01 Diablo. My boat's ski locker has water in it, more saturated carpet than anything. The bad part is the ski locker was clean and dry when I bought the boat... and now that the water is in it.. it has a slight oil sheen to it. I'm not sure how the water got there (unless its coming down the pole from my cover during rain storms). I can't seem to get the water to drain to the engine compartment either, it looks as if its not made to drain there? Did you have any luck figuring it out? Perhaps your resolution will help me as well.
Good Luck ! Nick |
Re: Mystery Water in floor locker
You might try a power washer and try putting the discharge end into the hole on the stern side of the locker. It might have enough pressure to clear the obstruction in the drain line.

Re: Mystery Water in floor locker
Hi Willrev I had the same problem with my 95 Talari. There should be a drain hole in the bulkhead behind the locker. Mine was all gunked up. It looked to me to be stray chop and resin from when it was built. If you have the cooler just behind the ski locker like mine, pull the screws holding the plastic liner and you can get in behind it with a tool and ream it out enough for the drain to do it's job.
