Trailer Bunks
How often should trailer bunks be replaced? I have a 1995 180 Talari that has been stored indoors since new and the bunks appear to be solid and the carpet is in good condition. Should I consider a new set?
Thanks, Carl |
Re: Trailer Bunks
Hi Carl, if the wood and the carpet look to be in good shape, I don't see any reason to replace them and while you're at it, don't forget to check the bunk attaching hardware as well (I seem to recall one of our members losing a bunk bolt while trailering, luckily, no harm was done) :wink_thumbup:
On our original trailer for our SeaRay, the bunks and carpet were over 12 years old and still going strong, unfortunately the frame rusted out due to repeated saltwater launches. WetWilly |
