Replacement Courtesy Lights
Here’s the scoop… I’ve located the source for the “Oval Courtesy Lights” Mariah used on their boats. The original lights were manufactured by Ramco, the name was later changed to Optronics and now the lights are sold under the LITECO brand.
The lights can be purchased from their recommended vendor, Hoosier Van and Truck, INC. in Elkhart, IN. The number is (800) 592-7600, ask for Tom Rudd. The Oval Lights cost $8.00 each, come in the different colors and they are available with the original white or new clear lenses, just request which one you want when you order. Sorry, I was told the lenses aren’t available separately. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...tesyLights.jpg Part #: 24077-71C Black finish w/chrome reflector w/clear lenses (This is the one Mariah used w/white lenses) Here’s Optronics link if you would like to see their other lighting products: http://www.optronicsinc.com/liteco.htm For some unknown reason, these lights are the only ones missing pictures on their web..... I have a catalog and ShabahZ250 has graciously offered to scan and placed it up on the forum. One last note, there are three small differences between the new and old lights, 1) The bulb sockets on the original lights were made from rubber, the new lights come with plastic sockets so they’re not water resistant like the originals are but a little silicon sealant on the back side should fix that. Old: http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...ah/OldPlug.jpg New: http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...ah/NewPlug.jpg 2) The new housings has two small vents around the bulb for cooling and the old one doesn’t, if heat buildup isn’t a problem, the silicon should work here as well. 3) The new lights do not come with any connectors on the wire ends. You will need to install new ones or splice on your old ones. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...ariah/Wire.jpg To me, the black lights stood out a little too much and just seemed to look like an after thought so I’m changing ours to white frames to better blend in with the interior and add a little more modern look… http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...Mariah/BnW.jpg Lastly, here is a picture with actual 2 Black, 2 White and 1 Warm White fixtures in white and clear lenses so you get a better idea of the different looks. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...Mariah/All.jpg The original is on the top left and at the bottom is the "Warm White". So if your lights need replacing or you want a different look, now you’ve got some options! Options, options, options…I love options, now if I can only make up my mind……, WetWilly |
What a great find WW!! Mine has white frames and they're kinda yellowed.......I think I'll get the white frames and fluted lense, heck, I may as well upgrade to LED lamps while I've got everything apart. Looks like I have another off season project!
Thanks!:wink_thumbup: |
Great job Willy! I think that vendor just found themselves a customer....

Excellent Willy!
Great timing; my LED bulbs just arrived today. I had never considered the white bezels, I think I will give those a try. Way to go! |
Re: Replacement Courtesy Lights
Where did you get the LED bulbs for these? I have replaced all my bulbs to LED's but never found one that fits in these...

I'm digging this. Swapping my black rimmed guys for the whites might look pretty slick. |
