Re: Picking up my new to me boat tomorrow.
The 3.0L is pretty fuel efficient.......at least thats what members like 180Diablo keep telling me.
The trailer guides are available at most major marine vendors (iboats.com, Overtons, Bass Pro etc). Personally i think they look a little silly but they do have some definite advantages when it comes to loading up your boat at certain ramps. |
Re: Picking up my new to me boat tomorrow.
The one ramp that I launch at isn't a problem.. the water is very calm. However the other ramp we've been to has a strong current.. I actually have to back the trailer in.. then get back in the boat and shoot for the trailer. Once I hit the trailer I have my wife pull up a few feet to set the back of the boat on the trailer.. then I just crank it the rest of the way. At the other marine I can drive all the way on the trailer, get out and hook it, give it a few clicks on the crank and then pull it out.
It's funny.. you can set at this ramp waiting to load and not move for hours (unless the wind catches you)... the other ramp you'll be a mile down the river idling while someone else is loading their boat. The current is actually kind of scary, and i'mn not sure we'll be back there very often. I think our next trip will be at a lake. Thanks again, Nick |
