Power trim
My power trim works fine trimming up and even into the trailer mode, however it's hit and miss if it's going to work when pressing the trim down button. If you click it enough it will finally make contact and work...
What needs to be replaced and how difficult is it to replace??? Is the part a boat dealer item only or is it something that could be purcahsed cheaper at an automotive store??? |

Hi Chuck, sounds like a dirty "down" switch or a faulty "down" solenoid may be the culprit here. Can you tell us what type on controller you have for the trim buttons? (a picture would help as well) Difficulty depends on how easy it is to access the trim pump (for the seleniod) or the switch contacts on the throttle assembly. WetWilly |
