Question on Where to Find the Lid to the Bathroom Door???

I have a 1997 Jubilee and there are 2 parts to the bathroom / Changing room door.
The part on top that lifts up and then the door that swings open. Well, the lid that lifts up broke, does anyone know where I can find a replacement door/lid??? In desperate need!!!

Thanks!

No one sells those parts as they were made in the Mariah factory. Best option is to have yours repaired by a plastic/acrylic specialist or check out this thread for some further information.

After reading these threads I've made my own head hatch from hickory for my 1999 244 Jubilee. I'll be posting some pics in the near future of my work. It really wasn't too difficult and will really look great.

I have my old one that has a crack in it. It will work as a great template. just need to know where I can send it so someone can fabricate it for us. I think wet willy has a place to where I can send it out.

Unfortunately 'WetWilly' has been AWOL for nearly a year now...:(

Has anyone been able to find the lid? Mine has also cracked, and I need a replacement.

Hi! I didn't see the photo of the loo cover you made, but would you be interested in making another one and selling it to me?

No, I never could find one. I had a carpenter make a wooden lid for me.

Here are some photos of the Loo cover that I made.
I was in the ZONE at the time, but wouldn't want to build it again.

I recently bought a 244 jubilee and mine is cracked. I have a cousin who works with glass and plexi glass. I'm going to see if he can make or know someone who can make. Who all is looking for a head lid for a jubilee?

I am greatly interested and I see a handful of owners here that would be interested as well. Please keep in touch. Thank you!!!

VERY NICE! Great job! I'll show my husband these photos and see if he can do it. Maybe some of that male competitiveness will stir in him and he'll want to make one now. HA! I really appreciate the photos - and seeing your work.

Definitely interested..I've been emailing fabricators all day, but haven't heard back yet.

Re: Question on Where to Find the Lid to the Bathroom Door???

FYI to those looking for a hatch...I shipped mine just over two weeks ago to UPD Plastics out of Davie Florida. Prior to shipping, I sent them pics and got a quote of $175.00 + shipping (both ways). As soon as I receive it back I'll update this thread on the fit/finish of the new part.

Re: Question on Where to Find the Lid to the Bathroom Door???

Thank you Mic22. I just ordered my windshield from them. A few customer service issues on my end (the same as what I read on the company's reviews) but I'm hoping to get through them soon. It's been over a month and I still don't have my windshield... which they said would be here on 3/3. But if they can get me that Loo Hatch I'll definitely work with them again. Thanks for the update, looking forward to hearing your feedback. Thanks!

Re: Question on Where to Find the Lid to the Bathroom Door???

Hi Mic22. I contacted UPD plastics and they sent me a photo of your loo cover (at least I'm pretty sure it was yours). Wondering if it fit and if you are happy with it. The windshield I ordered from them came in slightly different but will work, so I wanted to check with you to see if I could get your feedback. If you like it and it fit well, then I'll place my order right away. Thank you again, so very much, for helping me with this.

Sorry for the delay in responding to your question. I received it back and was pleasantly surprised with how well they did duplicating the part - almost perfect. If I was to knit-pick, I would say the part where it curves down in front was just off a little creating a small gap on the sides, but hardly noticeable though.

I would recommend to anyone that orders this lid to reattach the hinge themselves. Since I sent them my cracked lid with the hinge and handle still attached, they reattached the old parts to the new lid for me. This was great for the handle, but the hinge was off just enough to not let the lid close all the way due to it binding on the fiberglass. I actually think the new lid may be a hair thicker than the old. Unfortunately, you only get one chance to make that perfect, so I took it off and carefully and I do mean carefully surface mounted two hinges to the top. Next time I get to the marina I'll snap a few pics.

Re: Question on Where to Find the Lid to the Bathroom Door???

Thanks for responding. I literally JUST (a few hours ago) had my shop make me one out of starboard. Unfortunately most of my lid was destroyed/shattered so most of the work I'm having done is all based on measurements alone - no template! I'm fitting the top piece they cut for me tonight so they can make any necessary adjustments tomorrow. I'll take measurements of the front "lip" tonight and they'll cut and apply that piece to the lid tomorrow. The starboard material is awesome and came highly recommended... best yet a large piece was $24 with my company's discount. Thanks for the advice about the hinge... my shop was asking that I give them the hinge so they can tap the holes and affix it here. I'll let my husband do that when the starboard lid is complete, per your suggestion. I did see a photo of your lid that UPD plastics made and it does look great. I was just leary of buying it from them because when I purchased my windshield from them it was off a little bit (not as tall as the original one, but the screw holes matched up thank goodness). I wanted to hear from you first on if it fit and how you felt about the quality. I improvised and went with the starboard and will save $275 (UPD's price) on this one. I will also post a photo of mine. Thanks again for posting a response. As you know, this process has been grueling, so it's comforting to know there is help on this site.

The forum is in its death throes and none of the people in this thread are still posting here (except me....). I'll suggest you check out UPD Plastics homepage directly.

Re: Question on Where to Find the Lid to the Bathroom Door???

I also cracked mine into three pieces. It found a plastics business nearby that glued it up with their industrial strength stuff. Not sure what it was, but it has held strong. It still looked like crap though. So, I filled the line best I could and wrapped it with car wrap you can find on amazon. I think it looks great. Good luck!
